Dark Flower is an album about what happens when pain doesn’t bury you; it becomes the soil you grow from. Through betrayal, abuse, fear, anxiety, depression, grief, and one-sided love, Tara Chugh explores the darker corners of being human while searching for the light hidden inside them. The album moves through the anger of You Let Us Fall, the warnings of Monster, and the fight for freedom in Final Kingdom, confronting the people, fears, expectations, and circumstances that try to take our power away.
But Dark Flower is ultimately a story of emergence. Crawling captures the terrifying leap into a new life; Genesis is the moment of discovering who you truly are; and The Static is learning to hear your own voice beneath everyone else’s expectations. Her Eyes searches for hope within pain, while Never Existed finds acceptance in love that could never be returned. At the center of it all, Dark Flower becomes a metaphor for transformation: Sometimes the most beautiful version of yourself is the one that emerges after you’ve been buried.
Tara Chugh is a dark alternative electropop artist, songwriter, and pianist whose music lives at the intersection of vulnerability and power. Blending ethereal, soulful vocals with commanding intensity, and expressive piano artistry, Tara creates an emotionally immersive Universe that explores transformation, identity, power, heartbreak, and the darker corners of the human experience. Her sound draws from artists like Halsey, and Aurora.
Her latest album, Dark Flower, is a story of emerging from the darkness transformed. As the album unfolds, Tara explores betrayal, abuse, fear, anxiety, grief, love, self-discovery, and the reclamation of personal power. The album’s title track captures its central metaphor: being buried beneath pain and finding the strength to rise through the ground and become something beautiful. With its cinematic production and emotionally charged performances, Dark Flower marks a deeper evolution of Tara’s artistic world—one rooted in darkness, but ultimately centered on growth, resilience, and learning to separate her own voice from the static of the world.
Tara co-wrote with rock-tronic producer Tiq Rags on ‘Dark Flower’, as well as previous projects: 2024 EP ALTER EGO, and 2026 single, ‘Reverberations’ released with her band, THE SIRENS. Beyond her artist work, Tara writes and records for TV and film and has partnered with leading sync and production-music libraries including Universal Music, BMG Production Music, and APM Music. All of her songs from her EP ALTER EGO landed placements on networks like: Netflix, Hulu, Oxygen, Peacock, etc.
